Advance warning – the following blog post contains no technical detail! It’ll also seperate my younger audience from the more mature of us.
Mid January marked the end of another episode in my career, as I made the move from permanent employment to contracting and starting up my own limited company.
For most of my career I’ve referred to myself as ‘The Littlest Hobo’, a reference which less and less people understand, the older I get. It’s potentially a sign of my ADHD that I tend to move on from jobs more frequently than others, but I like to think of myself as coming in to a place, making a difference and then moving on to the next challenge. As the lyrics of the theme song say :
There’s a voice that keeps on calling me
Down the road that’s where I’ll always be
Every stop I make I make a new friend
Can’t stay for long just turn around and I’m gone again
Maybe tomorrow I’ll wanna settle down, until tomorrow I’ll just keep moving on
My new venture is going great (although I don’t want to jinx it). I can’t wait to see what the coming months bring, and I’ll hopefully have lots of fab things to share on the blog.
For those of you who have no idea what The Littlest Hobo is, it was a TV show in the 80s about a dog who would wander in to a place each week, solve some problem, then go on his way again.
For those of you who do have an idea – here is the intro theme song for your enjoyment!
