Sheriff behind 'Do Not Cross' tape with a crowd trying to get through

Somebody call Security!

So there have been big changes lately with the user interface for dataverse security roles, and it’s definitely ruffled a few feathers.

I saw a post on LinkedIn about frustration around no longer being able to click on the entity name and toggle/change all the permissions at once.

Yes, that is annoying – but the new interface does have something similar so I’d thought I’d share it now.

ACCESSING PERMISSION Settings

With the role you want to edit open, and the table in view, hover on the 3 ellipses and click on them.

The option ‘Permission Settings’ will be available

That brings up a panel on the right, which gives some options for the table permissions. You can scroll down and select on that is most appropriate, or closest to what you want – before tweaking the individual permissions.

I know it’s not perfect, however it means you can get full permissions across the table with about 4 clicks, rather than picking 8 drop down choices!

Also, if you go through Advanced Settings -> Solutions -> Security Roles you can still access the old editor if you want
